In the late sixties I had a length of conduit with a small section of hacksaw blade (heavy duty) trapped in the end with bicycle handlebar grip.These were used to screw in hundreds of self tapping screws. Ground down to suit this may work for you. Tony

Hole sizes are important 25mm for **** 28mm for great **** and 32 mm for sparrows. Tony

The boxes should be made at least 120mm from hole bottom to floor of box ,the birds will still fill it but it does help. Tony
