The top is only 12mm thick or something like that, but I see what you mean and I may chamfer the edge. I'll go have a look at it tonight and reassess. Well spotted about the hinges. They are Set into the box but not enough, I think the barral is to far forwards to ill have to sort that out too...

There are a few good books on making planes but not many that go in depth about making hollow and rounds. Your best bet is to get an old round and study it. Take measurements ect ect. You could even rip one down its centre to look in its insides to get a better look of bed angles and all the...
