    Golf Trophy

I have seen a replica made by a subscriber on one of the forums and also a how to in a magazine - either Woodturning or Good Woodworking. Both were a long time ago but I reckon if you use Google (other search engines are available!) you will probably find something. Richard

    Rip-off Brittain

I didn't read it as a joke but if that is what it was then I apologise. Richard

    Rip-off Brittain

You are seemingly not intelligent enough to understand so I won't bother to explain. Richard

    Rip-off Brittain

Clearly you either didn't read the post properly or you don't have a wife and grandchildren! I can't send it back because I didn't buy it and wouldn't anyway because I, like most grandparents, like to spoil my grandchildren. It's up to parents to be stingy in the way you describe and they...

Unscrewing stubborn wood from wood worm screw?

Absolutely spot on! The pilot hole diameter should be no more than 1mm less than the diameter of the screw. half a millimeter is enough for screws less than 6mm diameter. Richard

    Thank you Max. Richard

    Rip-off Brittain

I wasn't looking for sympathy and as expected, didn't get it. Anyway, as my post says, I didn't buy the shirt. It was bought by my wife. You do have an option with your water rates - not easy or cheap perhaps but still an option. My sister's house is on the edge of Saddleworth Moor. Private...

    Rip-off Brittain

To my horror, TLOML has just bought a Southampton FC shirt to give to our 14 year old grandson at Christmas. £40 for the shirt, £18 for Barclay's badges on the sleeves and Lambert's name and number on the back - total £58! As if that isn't enough of a rip-off they have the bloody gall to add...

    Pub Licensing

And that is exactly why local authorities are reluctant to allow de-licencing. The guy obviously though buying the premises was a cheap way of acquiring a decent sized house in a location he wanted. Richard

    Pub Licensing

Everything except spending enough money there to justify it being kept open I presume. The old adage applies - "If you don't use it - you lose it!" Same applies to every other "amenity" business. Richard

    Pub Licensing

He will lose his personal licence to sell and serve alcohol if he fails to re-new it at the appropriate time - usually annually. The building will remain "licenced premises" until the local planning authority agrees to de-licence it. In the meantime the premises will still be subject to...

I think I'd rather be a smoker!!! Richard

    Native Red Squirrels

We used to hand the squirrel tails in at the police station, fill in a brief form, sign a receipt and get paid in cash! It was useful pocket money. Richard

    Native Red Squirrels

What a load of cobblers! There is no significant size difference. In the 50's and 60's we used to kill greys with air rifles and catapults to get the one shilling per tail bounty! Richard
