    Rutlands Warning!

Obsolete packaging is a way to get around selling items for a lower price than recommended so that other dealers can't have a go at them for price dumping. It's used everywhere in retailing (B stock with no visible sign of any damage or anything wrong with it) It keeps the manufacturers sweet ...

Those safety glasses wouldn't have been much use if that chuck had hit him in the teeth! cheers Andrew

The crappy moulded 100mm down to 60mm or whatever it's supposed to be reducer is an absolute piece of junk(doesn't fit without heating it) record have come up with a new connector on the camvacs but won't supply it to existing camvac owners who want to upgrade (I can't see any reason why not as...

Rutlands one hand clamps marking wood

Thanks for all the replies. I managed to get the marks out by rubbing with a cloth with some Methylenchlorid - Dicchlormethane (thats the German name for it on the bottle. It's used for model plastic kits as glue) A quick rub and the marks have gone. I hope it helps?? I sent Rutlands a message...

Rutlands one hand clamps marking wood

I have just clamped up some Honduras Mahogany with some Rutlands one hand clamps that I bought a few years ago (red plastic sides with a black kind of rubber material on the faces) and the clamps are leaving what seems to be an oily mark on the wood. Has any one had any similar experiences with...

    Rip off Britain?

I've got a Vaillant boiler the last repair from Vaillant cost about €300 for a circuit board. There was a popped electrolytic cap with a bulging top (chinese?) Unfortunatly I wasn't home when the service guy came I would have fixed it myself. But by law here in Austria they are not allowed to...

    It never happens in Europe!

I live in Austria and in general snow is not a problem. A few weeks ago there was a good snowfall of very wet snow which brought down a lot of trees and especially branches because of the heavy weight, including the top half of our neighbours pine tree. The authorities here were a little slow to...

    37mm hole?

Yes use wd40 and go slow, otherwise it will melt and grab. I you go with the router keep the speed low and feed rate high with a bit designed for acrylic and you`ll have to use several passes. I would take it to a laser cutting shop and get them to do it. Cheers Andrew

    2mm diameter drill bit bends?

As a retired guitar maker I can recommend these Proxxon 6 Piece HSS Twist Drill Set 476782 Drilling side dots is what I bought them for and they work fine. Just make sure the fb's /neck is fixed down on the drill press and you don't have a lot of run out on your drill. Clear the drill...
