    New lathe

Not alot of used lathes around my part so buying new is the best option. After done alot of research on the Record power cl3 lathe I think it will be off the list. Have been looking on the Vicmarcs and they are very nicely made, but they do come with a hefty price too. Could order just the Vl200...

    New lathe

Hello Well I have sold my Myford Ml8. The tailstock was too woobly for my use, but I had great fun restoring the old girl. Now I am looking for a new lathe. Since I will make tampers and tobacco pipes and that sort I have enough with a 12" swing. But I want a lathe that will last the rest of my...

    Another Chuck thread....

Hello again I have been looking on these pipe making jaws from Vicmarc and they only fit their VM120 chuck. And I am not sure if that would be a good fit for my Myford Ml8 with 1" x 12 thread. It is 3.9 kg without the jaws and I am wondering if it will be to heavy? Will the bearings cope or...

    Sharpening....

Thank you very much for this reply😁👍 I already love my little lathe and will keep it until something major wears out. I have bought many parts so I have two of each if something should break on the lathe. And I will try yours suggestion about birch plywood and sanding paper!

    Sharpening....

Hello😁 Just finished restoring my Ml8 lathe, changed bearings, link belt and took it all apart to clean and paint. I am very proud of it and hope it will give me decades of use😁. With the lathe it came with Myford metal turning tools and Wawood? wood turning tools. Never heard of the brand, but...

    Chuck.. Again....

    Chuck.. Again....

Hehehe. A pound now is 13 krone and before it was 10-11krone. Sounds little, but it adds up quickly. And Vat here is 25%. Also there is 30 quid in shipping. But sounds the Versachuck is maybe worth it! Sent fra min LYA-L29 via Tapatalk

    Chuck.. Again....

No I do not need to pay UK Vat, but Norwegian. And the currency has collapsed because of the virus... Anyway sounds like you are a fan of the Versachuck :) Sent fra min LYA-L29 via Tapatalk

    Chuck.. Again....

Like this Macros. Some use just metal lathes and some both. Alot of people make their own, but these looked very nice. I guess I could make my own version of it. Can not be that difficult.. Probably right about there are alot more pen makers than pipe makers out there hehehe I know I am picky...

    Chuck.. Again....

If that is correct, stamps like Made in Britain is not worth much is it? If parts are made elsewhere and just put together in the UK? Sent fra min LYA-L29 via Tapatalk

    Chuck.. Again....

Hi again Sorry for my nagging about chucks, but I have no one to ask. Would Vicmarc VM120 be to big for lathe, Myford ml8? Reason I ask is because they make these pipe making jaws. But if it is I will need to make my own. Had a look on on Axminster evolution sk114 chuck, but out of stock.. Also...
