    Work Gloves Needed

I have found generally that nitrile coated gloves will work with screens, whereas latex coated ones won't.

    Workshop First Aid, WoundClot Gauze?

As the first line of that article I linked to says "Never has any one subject caused so much debate in First Aid than the use of tourniquets". :-) However, the prevailing view on their use has changed considerably in favour in the last 5-10 years. They're a last-resort option, certainly, but...

    Workshop First Aid, WoundClot Gauze?

About first aid kits, I don't know of any good ones specifically aimed at workshops. Screwfix have a bunch which I just flicked through, but they look more like generic HSE workplace kits to me, full of stuff you'll never use. You're better off making up your own, then at least you'll know...

Just to wrap this up: I replaced the capacitor and the bandsaw runs lovely. Thanks for your help.

Inca Euro 260 bandsaw motor problem

Many thanks for the comments and advice. One more question: I assume that this type of capacitor is not electrolytic. In other words, there is no positive or negative and, it doesn't matter which terminal is wired to which cable. Is that right?

Inca Euro 260 bandsaw motor problem

I have an Inca Euro 260 bandsaw, model 342.186, from 1986. For quite a while now, the saw has been reluctant to start easily. I have finally got round to giving it a thorough clean and trying to fix the problem. The situation is this: 1. Under normal operation, when switched on the motor hums...
