Emir Workbench - how much is a good price if I sell?

Hi all, How much do you think would be a reasonable amount to ask for my workbench? It's an ex-college bench so been well used but in perfect working order. Also got various dogs for it as you can see from attached pics. More pics here: https://goo.gl/photos/aN373sZwZCQoRiPY9 Thanks, Jonny

Holdfast Group Buy - May have found a UK Blacksmith

Just finished drilling the holes in my bench for the holdfasts. Results here: http://thickastwoshortplanks.blogspot.co.uk/ The 19 mm auger bit appears to have done the trick - thanks Richard T!!

Holdfast Group Buy - May have found a UK Blacksmith

Received my pair today too. Cheers Richard! Bit of a noob question, but what is the best type of drill bit to drill through my bench (3" beech) - flat, forstner, auger, HSS? Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk 2

    Sawing straight

I don't think so as the ryoba I was using was almost brand new. That said could have been a manufacturing fault, but more likely my technique! Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk 2

    Finish for ash shelf

I've not got much of an idea about woodworking, and even less about finishing! So, what would a good finish (if any) be for an ash shelf (see http://thickastwoshortplanks.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/floating-ash-shelf-project.html? I've read that danish oil will give it a 'orrible yellow colour...

    Emir Workbench

A belt sander could work I suppose. Have to try and find someone to borrow one off!! I take your point about keeping any metal away from the work surface, but I was proposing to put them in horizontally from the front edge of the bench through the first laminated section and screwing into the...

    Emir Workbench

I have an (old?) Emir workbench I picked up from a college clearout . As you can imagine is been pretty knocked about with panel pins, nails, glue and who knows what else attached to the worktop, but it is sounder than anything I was going to build at my novice stage! Pics here...

Thanks all. Think there's a few pointers I can take from that, but clearly the most important thing is practice, practice, practice...

    Sawing straight

Hi all, I'm slowly practising my hand tool techniques and thought I was beginning to see progress at sawing in a straight line, until last night... I've got a mixture of Japanese pull saws and traditional western back saws and with shorter cuts I've been pretty happy with what I've...
