Probably a daft question, but how can you tell the manufacturer of so many of the files? Are they stamped?

Sounds like we're putting together the same bench and encountering the same problems. I expect you did a better job of gluing up the laminate than I did, mind! When trying to tame the top, it was the excess glue that seemed to be upsetting my plane, and scraping that off seemed to help. Even...
