Yes probably box blight. Number of years ago had another die at the other end of the churchyard which I was eying up and found it gone one week. There was also a box hedge behind the garden of remembrance that died last year. Not going to lose this one
Amongst other things I do volunteer work in a number of parks and churchyards. Currently I'm in the process of taking down what I think is a dead Box tree. Going to keep some of the timber myself for chisel handles. Is this anything others here would like? Going to be from 2" to 8" diameter.

You could run into serious issues with the EA who can be paranoid about work increasing the flood risk either up or down stream so I would have a talk with them. I've a stream that I'm looking to Spile and for stakes I'm going to use whatever comes to hand, Hazel, Ash, Witch Elm and Sycamore...
Could also try your local Janitorial Suppliers which is probably where I would go if I was looking. My local one although aimed at the trade is happy for anyones money.
One of the American YouTubers showed how much timber a MSA220 would cut and it seems for most it would do what you want. However it is an expensive purchase. This is from someone who bought a MS661 over the winter.
Little Stihl and Echo Chainsaws for about a sixth of the normal price keep appearing on my computer. At least one seller accepts PayPal so I'm waiting to see what turns up. Can always get a refund if they turn out to be fakes.
I did scrap one of the cheap plastic wind up drum extension leads and when I opened it up found the cable had completely welded it's self together so yes it can happen. Light loads generally not a problem but if you are pushing the current near to 13amps yes can happen.
I've not worked with two speed 3 phase motors so take my advice as you see fit. 3 phase motors usually have 3 wires going to them from the control gear so I presume as it was two speed thats where the 6 wire come into the situation. What you need to do is pick 2 of the black wire for the motor...
Don't discount those made after the 60s. I bought a new Stanley 6 in the 70s which is as nice as any of mine a lot older apart from the change to the blade adjusting knob being chrome plated steel and the nuts at the end of the knob and tote being aluminium all being rather than brass. Off...
As said above looks like a solid fire door, I've one as a back door which needs the hinges changing keep putting it off due to the weight. Only doors I have seen have had asbestos added to the plain panels in a panel door. Use to work in school labs 40+ yrs ago and use to sweep out the...
Not sure whether this is any use but the Youtube videoer Engels Coachworks has a video of him bending timber using a blow torch. Haven't watch that particular video but I find his videos interesting watching him practice a dying trade, he doesn't do the product placements or any of the other...
It's a rapidly changing situation. I ordered some items yesterday from FFX which have been dispatched and then received an email this evening from the firm stating that the shops and warehouse have now been shut down for a minimum of four weeks. There are a couple of the bigger tool shops that...
I use to work in a D&T dept. Money box either type where money drops in and a figure on the top moves or hollow shape with acyclic side. Book ends, bird boxes, bat boxes, window boxes. Later three out of 1 x 6 since leaving I've build hundreds of these with community groups. Not necessarily...
Depends what model it is. I've two Startrite Mercury drills and they have a Jacobs No33 chuck. Checking on line it seems to be a K32 key for this chuck.
