Hi, well many thanks for everyones thoughts on this, we tend to buy older cars, but I thought it would be interesting to see if it would be possible to get an EV. We haven't found out if we need to change cars just yet, out MoT will be within a few weeks and its depending on what they find...

    Used Electric Cars

Were stareing into the abyss of a looming MoT,,,and I think our smoky old diesel is after 205,000 ozone gobbling miles going to fail miserably,,,so in a fit of concern for the planet I thought I would check out older electric cars on eBay,,loads of advts, in the main Renault or the well...

My wife has had us on vit D for the past couple of months, I mentioned somthing about the cost and she quoted an article that had investigated the actual amounts of various vitamines in over the counter suppliments,,and the results were shocking, ie Vit D tablets with almost no Vit D in them...

    Securing your workshop

Well Ive been ferriting about on the internet and was looking into Car Alarms because I dont want a PiR based system, the intruder is in before the alarm is set off, I like the idea of a vibration sensor perhaps coupled with a straightforward door switch and a siren, and the alarms that I was...

    Securing your workshop

Hi and many thanks for doing this Jon, I looked up the link, very surprised how cheap the basic alarm was,,,only one review though and thats a 1star stinker!,,plus the systems are all centred around PiR sensors,,Ive been looking at Car Alarms,,trying to get my head around what they consist of,,I...

    Securing your workshop

Hmmm,,starting to sound complicated,,,normally open/ closed,, then leads me to think a little more, no good having an alarm that switches on then off again when the door is closed,,the clever bit is a signal sensing gizmo that once triggered keeps the alarm going,,Im going to look at the cheap...

    Straightening a ledge door

Hi Richard, that looks great and as you said its already had an effect I would give it more time to wait and see how it develops, I suppose there is still the same amount of twisting presure and its sustained so with luck it will continue to force the door over, I suspect you will want to see it...

    Securing your workshop

Many thanks for the various ideas, we dont have an alarm in the house and I dont have thousands of pounds worth of gear in the shed but I dont want the bug gers breaking my doors or nicking anything,,Im a little concerned that a smart alarm box would only encourage theives to think there was...

    Securing your workshop

Hi Jonm, the shock sensors, Ive seen them advertised for windows and I assumed that the considerable shock that perhaps travels through a window being broken would ne needed to set them of,,,they look like bits of foil I think?? Is it possible to get one that would detect somone pulling at the...

    Choc block connectors

Perhaps thats it, my Wago connecters come from the bottom of my grandson's toolbag, he gives me a mixed jar of odd and ends and thats where my little collection of Wagos came from.

    Choc block connectors

Wago type connecters are great but it took me a while to realise that what looks like a double choc block connecter is in fact a single terminal with two connections,,maybe there are different types and brands but all the ones Ive picked up are like this,

    Straightening a ledge door

As its all fairly new how about putting somthing between the top and frame to hold it open and then forceing (not much force required I expect) the bottom closed with a bolt so induceing some twist,,it might be wishful thinking but could be worth a try,,

    Securing your workshop
