    Routers and guide bearings

Innacuracies can come from a couple of issues with cheap, or in fact expensive routers. Guide bushes can sometimes not be concentric with the cutter, my festool of1400 had this issue and there was no obvious way to adjust it other than indulging in a bit of metalwork which isn't really...

Any cyclists? Get the miles in!

Haha, not a crush! I just disagreed with Mike once and (he said) he put me on ignore, every now and again I'll test the waters by pointing out when he's being a hypocrite or rude or dismissive of others opinions without grounds or just generally egotistical. Not sure how he would know or not...

Any cyclists? Get the miles in!

I have a zwift set up. If you're into cycling it can be quite engrossing. It's hard to get hold of the decent trainer's at the moment as it's just become, unsurprisingly, pretty popular. More and more of the pros are joining up and it's a bit of a thrill to be riding in a group with one. It's...

help with identifying a router bit profile please

help with identifying a router bit profile please

To avoid the break out on the straight cutter, just lead in from both sides, flipping the door in between. Do the first few mm, stop, flip, come from the other side, no break out. On the profile, as mentioned do the end grain first, then go with the grain. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

    Things I know today - that I didn't yesterday....

I was going to suggest the same thing! Haute Route events Friday, Saturday and Sunday, recovery ride in New York yesterday, race around Harrogate tonight, Team Time Trial on Thursday and much much more! I'm on about 1200kms a month at the moment. It's brilliant! Sent from my SM-G960F using...

help with identifying a router bit profile please

To clean up the edges you just need a straight bit in the router table set to take a skimming pass from the door, just make sure that the outfeed side of the fence is set inline with the cutter. This is effectively an over hand planer, just on its side. If you're a novice, this will be much...

    Friendship vs Greed

No need for an apology. Interesting that you took the time to reflect on your thoughts. We live in an age where there is so much information available. Most people will engage with me if the subject comes up (you'd be surprised how much we talk about food), I'm only to happy to have a...
