    Box joint jig

I must say your cuts are super good. i made my jig for a router but I think you are right to suggest a backing board to reduce he tear out, also using cheap pallet wood doesn't help much. I should be interested to know what your jig looks like for a table saw? Thank you very much for sharing...

    Box joint jig

I have seen many 'YouTube' examples of how to make a box joint jig. Most far to elaborate for the space I have, but I found an easy sample and made one. This is my result from a first ever box joint jig. It isn't pretty but I was pleasantly surprised with the result. I have since made a jig...

    Table Saw Sled

Thank you imageel for your reply. I think I may have confused the issue slightly by calling the fence a guide. I have edited the post so hopefully it's all a bit clearer. If I use the one channel provided will a sled have cause to stick or slightly go off true while in use?

    Table Saw Sled

I have watched many You Tube ideas regarding sleds. My problem is my Bestcombi 2000 only has one guide channel which if I made a sled how do I keep it running even. I suppose I could make use of the fence to compensate for not having a second channel. Any ideas please. The other discussion I...

    Hedgehog cage help!

Is it possible to make a wooden frame that matches the surround and aperture. It should then be possible to nut and bolt the hinge to the perspex doors and wood screw the other side of the hinge to the wooden frame. Just a thought.

    Wood identification.

I intend to set myself a target next year to identify as many different woods as I can. Right now a lot of timber looks the same to me. What's hard wood and what's softwood. Lot's of the grain structure is very similar, unless of course I do have a garage full of the same stuff!!

    Garden Trug

Lovely comment, thank you. I tend to look at shapes of the wood I have, move them around and eventually come with an idea. Usually scribble it out on a piece of paper. After a couple of thinking days I formulate a plan of action and then go for it. The problem is I have a habit of changing my...

    Garden Trug

Good point I should have done that. It's wrapped up now so I do that in the new year before my wife ventures into a cold wet garden.

    Garden Trug

Thanks Jameshow, it's to be used by my wife to carry around the garden when she goes dead heading and general weeding. It's not heavy and more than that, it's not plastic!

    Garden Trug

I'm one of those woodworkers who have a decent set of tools but lack patience in using them. I use wood from pallets or bits I retrieve when visiting the local waste disposal site. In this case a neighbour gave me the wooden contents of a bed from which I made a garden trug. I chaffered the...

    Bestcombi2000

I'm about to embark on my next phase of getting my machine to run smoothly without losing drive belts. There are no adjustments anywhere to centre the drive belt. If I undo the bolt that screws into the end of the large wheel pivot and put a angled washer each side of the framework and then...
