    Parkside track saw

I guess this is Festool vs Parkside :)

    Parkside track saw

Absolutely agree on the wrench - I was using a really good quality hex/allen socket which was snug fitting but still will not budge the thing.

    Parkside track saw

I'm having real trouble unscrewing the blade screw on my track saw. It's a 5mm allen which I believe is counter-clockwise to unscrew. I've tried a long allen key and also a 5mm allen socket but neither are budging it and it's starting to round slightly. Anyone else found this? I don't really...

    Sharpening

That's a similar thought process I'm having - what did you buy?

    Sharpening

I'm sure I'm going to open a Pandora's box, but I'm new to turning. Just did a course with Yandles and used the Sorby Pro Edge extensively - very enjoyable and I just realised the value of always have a sharp tool. Right now, I'm not sure I can justify the £450 although I am of the view of buy...

    Record CL1 tailstock alignment

Thanks, Duncan. I found out about that online and tried it, but it doesn't seem to make too much difference. When the tailstock is placed on the bars, the three "feet" (two at the back, one at the front) don't seem to let the tailstock sit level. I can see that they have been ground down at some...

    Record CL1 tailstock alignment

Recently picked up a CL1 as my first entry into turning. I think it was previously used for mainly bowl turning. I'm struggling getting the tailstock to align. I've gone through and checked the bench is level and the bars are level, but still no joy. It seems the "feet" of the tailstock are...

    Craft Supplies/Sorby PCC2000

Hi all - does anyone have a manual for one of these? There's an old thread here: Craft Supplies Precision Combination Chuck PC2000 | UK Workshop but the links to the manuals no longer seem to work. I've contacted Craft Supplies but they can't help until next week when someone's back from...

    Parkside track saw

I have a Parkside track saw which has been very good for the type of work I'm doing. The splinter guard on the track is quite tired now so could do with replacing. Could anyone recommend a suitable replacement? Thanks.

That would have been super interesting but unfortunately I'm working :(

    Getting started

I did see a CL1 up for sale locally on FB Marketplace... kind of tempting but I should probably wait until I've tried my hand.

    Getting started

Thank you. I stumbled across Richard Raffan the other day and that's what started to spark my interest in starting wood turning. I since also found PF Woodturning and like what she does turning bowls from different woods, sometimes with some resin in there too.

Thanks. Yes, I just found the Yandles beginners courses which look reasonably well priced so might give one a try.

Thank you Sachakins. Very informative. I think your suggestion of giving it a go first and see what I like is very good.
