Vibro saw, but not an aeropiccola....bought many years ago to experiment with my marquetry work, and never used in anger...

Just reading around and the weight is apparently used to alter the stroke, mine is very close to the arm and as mentioned the stroke is short. I'll try it further out

Vibro saw, but not an aeropiccola....bought many years ago to experiment with my marquetry work, and never used in anger...

Not a problem, it turns out the one here is an Aeropiccola which is a name I've never heard before. The picture is a bit rubbish but the pad fills the space between the plate and the magnet It isn't particularly noisy in use as long as whatever you are cutting is held down firmly. The...

I've got one of these saws, albeit in a different colour, and have used it this week to cut brass, horn and carbon fibre sheet. I'll have a look at it later on and see how it compares to what you have.

    Dust masks. Do you shave?

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Probably not the last thing I made, but something that keeps coming back to be re-made. Used to have a little sideline making stuff like this. This particular one got passed around and every new owner wanted a new knot fitting, it’s had black badger, two band badger and a synthetic knot or two...

    Dust masks. Do you shave?

The only way I can pass an FFP3 fit test is when clean shaven. The Wookies at work who insist their beard will filter C-19 can wear a powered hood.

    Paramo No.1 Vice jaws?

Hi, I’m just resurrecting an old Paramo No.1 3” vice. One of the replaceable jaws is broken and I need to find a replacement. Digging around suggested Record items may do the trick but the screw holes are slightly too close together in the jaws I bought. Any idea for equivalents?

Drill and impact driver combo kit recommendations

Another vote for the 18v Makita kit, I can’t remember the last time I needed to dig out my corded hammer drill. Even the 5ah batteries recharge quickly.

    Hello

Hi, I found the forum whilst searching for a spindle for my Dad’s old Arundel J4 lathe which is about to find a home in my garage cum workshop. I’m a bit of an imposter as my main interest is metal working, though I have plans to build a copy router for a bit of amateur gunstock duplication.
