I've always assumed the company producing it changed their product name from Plusgas to wd40, like "marathon to snickers" and "bounty to plenty". I Just googled it and it seems Plusgas and wd40 are two different animals altogether. :o

"Plus gas" I haven't heard that name for a long time, every time I use it people don’t know what I'm talking about, someone is showing their age.

Sorry if I didn’t make it clear, I meant making the stairs narrower, or adding treads and risers or cutting and taking out. Even changing the angle of the stairs but then you have to change the angle of every step. Still less hustle and cheaper than making from new. That’s what I have been doing...

I've fitted hundreds of these cheap doors, always being careful not to over thread the screws as it's only a thin sheet of mdf with nothing inside, but sometimes it does happen. M4 screw connecting bolts & sleeves is the perfect answer. I always thought about it but I didn’t know they existed...

Same here, I buy readymade from screwfix and adapt them, far cheaper and a lot less hassle.

This closer picture gives a clue that they may have been pressed or stamped, it's still got pieces that needs removing.

I too would be interested in how they are made, these look to be the same as those. These are solid beech and they seem to have been made by some sort of press.
