My experience is thus. All tradesmen, since covid it seems (maybe brexit), charge far too much labour rate, even given the time they must allow for site visit and quoting. Many of them are arrogant and untidy and again, since covid, many, many of them are obviously untrained idiots from other...

I agree with everything Against_The_Grain has written. Exactly my experience. I would also chuck in when local government policy drives you out..as in the case of Wycombe's destructive treatment of its chair making industry. Washed up, broke and broken. So my advice is the same.......DON'T.

Of course High Wycombe's chair museum has chairs stuck to the wall and some 'rubbish furniture' elsewhere. It depends what you want to get from your visit. Treat it with disdain and it will be like any other national treasure. Want to be there and the museum has a world of information to offer...
