I own a cheapo park side pillar drill that mostly sits under my bench to save space in my single garage shop. Wondering if I cash it in and upgrade to a UJK drill guide would I be losing anything? What’s the quality like on the drill guide?

Where I’m at with what I have to hand currently I shall abrase lightly with steel wool working in some wd40. Possibly using some 400+ grit sandpaper if struggling. I am also waiting for Axminster’s machine wax to come back in stock, so I may apply some candle wax to lubricate the bed.

Hello all, wondering how I should go about cleaning down and lubricating my new (second hand) metabo HC260c thicknesser bed. It has apparently been sat in a garage for 5+ years and so the bed is rusty and wood is getting stuck. Thanks in advance.

It provides very good protection from what I can tell so far; perfect bubbling of liquids. Took an age to dry but then I finished in a very cold garage!

You can find them new in UK shops but it’s £170 just with the 8mm jig. My eBay find was a one off used item.

Ended up impulse buying the jessem on eBay for £130 just now. Thankyou for your input confirming there was no other direction but jessem!

Hi guys, Appreciate there us likely 100 threads before this one on this but has anyone got any recommendations on a doweling jig. I am most tempted by the Jessem jig but it’s right up at the top budget. Has anyone got any good reviews of any others please? Thanks Phil

For a little more than £5 I may just dare to try one. I want a decent engineers square to check them against however. I’ve 4 try squares and none of them match up.

Yes apologies it’s a woodworking engineers square, preferably with metric graduation. I have been reading into it and it seems fairly straight forward if I buy a BS939(B) or DIN875 marked engineers square it should be spot on. To which the axminster or Fisher engineers squares are well priced.

Can anyone recommend an acurate set square on a budget if possible. If it’s graduated that’s even better!
