Thanks Pete no i was using wet and dry on plate glass. Bevel was way off to start only had 240 need to get something coarser cant seem to find any maybe a bit of fine emery cloth if i can find some. So you said you go for 2mm if you kept going would it carry on all the way up the bevel? Thanks...

Yes it is a cheap one it is 3 mm out on the 700 female pegs so I have had to pack them out 3mm. Also the wall is 12mm out of square I have done the joint it is not perfect but acceptable. If I had to do them all the time I would invest in a trend one. Thanks everbody for your help. Phil.
