Hello guys, I thought I will update this post as finally bought a panel saw Format4 kappa 40. It took a while to find one but it’s in now! Very pleased with it so far! Happy days!

Yes, I do know they need a lot space. I’ll be moving soon to the new workshop 700sqf, not huge but much bigger than current. Plan is to put the saw in few benches and small spray booth.

Thanks for all your help and advice. I think I’ll try to hunt down either Altendorf or Martin. There are Martins about but only 850 rip fence and I’ll need minimum 1200.

Which Altendorf would you recommend? SCM I’m thinking of NOVA SI 300 as I don’t think I’ll ever need 400mm blade.

Yes, but even second hand Altendorf are very pricey. I’d say my budget will be around 10k

Thanks for that Alan. Great little jig. I was always using Palm router with bottom bearing, but usually bearing was leaving marks on the veneers. Now I will definitely switch to your idea. :)

Looking good Alan. How do you trim leaping with a router trimming bit or plane? Do you use dominos to glue a lipping on? I've been watching some of your pics on photobucket, lots of great stuff and inspiration a question re spraying. When you spray carcass do you have a back glued in too if yes...

Looking good mailee, as always. Are your sides flush with top or in a bit ? If they flush what is your trick to plunge Domino at the edge of a board? :D
