Hi, I am looking for info on this 14" Back saw. It is Atkin & sons, Brass back and the etch reads Cast Steel, Sheffield Works, London Strand, Warranted. Has anyone got any info on this saw? Thanks Martin.

Hi, I was trying to find out any info on a Plane Maker by the name of Samuel Ashton as he is mentioned as being a Plane Maker in 1851-1861. He then became an edge tool maker. He is mentioned in Goodman British Plane Makers Book by Jane Rees, but there is no more info on him...

Hi , I have a cap iron on a metal plane with a stamp name Ashton on it. It has a wooden wedge which holds the iron in place. Was Ashton a plane maker before he became an edge tool maker ? Any info would be helpful. Will post a picture later. Martin.

I am posting a picture of the handle not original but you can see the out line of the older handle. It had a third hole where there would have been another screw or possibly a Medallion. Martin.
