Skilsaw worm gear and Makita Hypoid saw

Perhaps its not my adapter then? dont suppose that you noticed if they were with a standard saw and adapter or with the plunge saw?

Skilsaw worm gear and Makita Hypoid saw

Without meaning to be blasé i don't really care if they do or do not approve of the saw. For me personally it will see just as much use out of work as it would at work, but it would just make life so much easier at work! I was merely offering the OP what could be an alternate route 'so to...

Skilsaw worm gear and Makita Hypoid saw

Sorry got carried away there... Hopefully someone from that side of the pond will correct me? But my first guess would be no electric brake?? Hence why i think getting it OKed as a grinder may be the best way forward if its for work use!

Skilsaw worm gear and Makita Hypoid saw

Just to throw my tuppence into the mix since i'm also weighing up importing either the Skilsaw 'Lightweight' SPT 77 or the Makita Hypoid saw. Both of which i might add are still competitively priced against UK bought saws even when you include shipping and import duties! I am really leaning...

Table Saw, Fence and rail system UK

Finally, got pics resized! With hindsight i probably shouldn't have bothered with making the outfeed end of the fence any longer than the cast table, but at least its easier to cut it down than to add extra  Locks nice and tight, with minimal pressure on the lock handle. I can easily...

Table Saw, Fence and rail system UK

That axminister deluxe fence looks a lot better in that thread than the images on their site! No wonder it's always on sale (£86 atm) as it looks like just another sub-standard factory fence on their site! It's still a little short for my requirements though and i probably wouldn't be able to...

Table Saw, Fence and rail system UK

Does anyone have some advice on trying to find a decent aftermarket Fence and rail system to replace the OEM fence on a portable table saw? Ideally a 40" rail, Good strong lock, Remains true without needing to be re-aligned every time you breathe on it like the factory fence does! Its as if...

    Best Mitre Saw under £350

I'd be tempted at a 10" Festool for £450+vat (£540 inc)... but not everyone can get it at that kind of price and some people, (me included) dislike buying online from 'bobs online building tools' because of the hassle if it needs to go back for whatever reason! Buy from a shop and if anything is...

    Best Mitre Saw under £350

Yes, it's also double his budget price, and he's already said that it's not going to get heavy regular use! Even i can't justify the cost of most Festool products and I'm a professional that uses these tools quite heavily!

    Best Mitre Saw under £350

Sorry MikeJhn, i think i miss read your post! I doubt you will find anything relative on HSE, most H&S deals directly with the machine, not attachments/user modifiable parts! However if a blade is included with the machine it must be tested as safe to use during the overall testing (if that...

    Best Mitre Saw under £350

Right... Looking at the 4 upper left images as they are the most relevant to you (working anticlockwise): Positive hook/rake: The tip of the tooth points forward, this is used for a saw where the blade cuts the work piece on the down stroke ie. The rotation of the blade traps the wood between...

    Best Mitre Saw under £350

Mike Yes but that is dangerous! The rake on a tablesaw blade is designed so the blade pushes down on the table, i.e. towards the spindle. That on a mitre saw also pushes down on the table, but that is away from the spindle. The teeth are raked differently and should not be interchanged. I...

    Best Mitre Saw under £350

Get anything below 10" you will regret it! Unless you want it specifically for small work like beading, bath stud, picture rails etc. That saw is more than accurate enough for roughing out work and first fix type stuff though
