    The UKW Infill Project

Hi Jimi, just read your blog post - what a story! (Even though I've read all this thread, I was enthralled!) I'm so pleased that what Richard began you have finished so magnificently, and I just know he'd be chuffed to bits too. You've done him proud. Love, Emma

Hi Mike, you're very very welcome - it was a pleasure to meet you, Alison and Hannah. Hope the pressing goes well :) To anyone else who may be interested, we still have some apples left on the trees which should be good for the next 2-3 weeks. Let me know if you're interested! Emma

    Any cider makers? FREE APPLES!!!!

Hi, I have a load of apples about to ripen that anyone who wants them is welcome to on a pick-your-own basis. We're already getting quite an amount of windfalls, so I'm guessing they'll all be ready in a couple of weeks. We have one tree of each of the following: Yarlington Mill Ashton Brown...

I like the Allen bolts idea. Richard used to use them to fix the bridge in place on his heavy based smoothers, and they looked reet smart.

Looking great, Jimi. I like the idea of the brass screws - I'm a big fan of mixed metals in a plane (and in jewellery). I see you've put the hefty spacer to good use :D It's going to be so very pretty. Well done.

Apple Tree bumper crop, advice required

:D Hilarious, Mr P It *is* going to be a bumper year for apples though - our trees were completely covered in blossom, and now they're all smothered with 1 inch big applettes. Normally Rich and I would make cider, but it's not something I want to (or can) do on my own. Any cider makers in the...

(kind of ) Review: Riley Toolworks Scratch awl

Careful now... Actually, no offence whatsoever to Noel's rasp, but Richard found it wasn't suitable for what he was doing with the old mitres there. He didn't think he did the kind of work where he would find it useful or that it was designed for. I'll try to find it tonight and take some...

(kind of ) Review: Riley Toolworks Scratch awl

I'm vague on the details, but Noel definitely sent Richard a rasp of a new design to try out and review then to pass on to someone else - I don't know who. Is this ringing any bells with anyone?

(kind of ) Review: Riley Toolworks Scratch awl

I have a horrible feeling that Richard had/has the Liogier rasp last, and that it's somewhere (??) in the shed... Sent from my ST26i using Tapatalk

    Richard T

Hi all, Just to let you know Richard's funeral will be on Tuesday 10 June at 11:00am at Robin Hood Cemetery and Crematorium, Streetsbrook Road, Solihull. I'm aware you're spread far and wide, and that it's a work day... that much said, if you wish to attend, you would be very welcome. Emma x
