New model Axminster 14" pro bandsaw

If you are referring to the AP2920B then yes - looks very nice at that price point. Would like to see one in operation

Single most useful tool in your shop

For general DYI it would have to be a good level, pencil, and tape measure. In the workshop it would be this tiny T-rule from Incra. Very handy and used on most projects.

    Nova Viking 16 drill press

I have been looking at the benchtop version and it is tempting. Full disclosure - I am a sucker for digital controls and new features, but my current benchtop drill is powerful and works well enough for what I do 99% of the time (putting holes in things) @Fireburst You will have to update us...

    Digital Multimeter Recommendation Required

I have been using Brymen for the past 7 years and it is great. Well made, accurate, and the safety features are about the best without having to spend insane money. Loads of teardowns and reviews on Utube

Which wheeled base for new Bandsaw - Laguna 14BX

Very easily solved - I will have to post up a summary of how I wired my setup. At the very minimum you can go for cable management (zip ties and mounting blocks) to run the cable over the top of the saw and down the back

Which wheeled base for new Bandsaw - Laguna 14BX

BTW - if you are looking for lighting and want the final product to look a bit like the Laguna saws in the US - this light from Axminster fits perfectly: https://www.axminstertools.com/axminster-led-clearview-work-light-507313?queryID=7b3d06701351f9cec9e977d23a109dff Bolts right into the...

Which wheeled base for new Bandsaw - Laguna 14BX

I have used the Starrett Woodpecker blades and Tuffsaws - both very good. Tuffsaws wins with the advice - second to none and they have a good range of options.

Itech 260S with Spiral cutter head - First impressions

I would like to see the difference but would be hard to do without having access to both. I would assume more 'cuts per inch' from the S&S should equal better finish - but that assumes the same feed rate EDIT - just looked and they both share the same feed rate (4.8m per min), cutter block...

Itech 260S with Spiral cutter head - First impressions

Axminster: S&S: The main changes seem to be that the S&S can have the added mortising attachment and is rated 2kW vs 1.5kW for the Axminster. It also has a lot more cutting knives - over double. Might account for the 2kW as those extra knives will equate to more drag on the head. That and a...

Itech 260S with Spiral cutter head - First impressions

I took a look at the Axminster AW2260S and apart from some key changes (see below) it looks to be the same machine as the 260SS from S&S. Great price too! https://cdn.axminstertools.com/media/downloads/108512_manual.pdf

Itech 260S with Spiral cutter head - First impressions

Still happy with my purchase - more than enough for my 'weekend warrior' use.
