    Wildflower seeds / garden

It does take a few years for any plant species to thrive (become established) in its new surroundings. The green roof on my workshop for example just put ordinary soil on there with some grass seed initially for some colour. Eventually (some 10 or more years) there's now a variety of stuff there...

    Wildflower seeds / garden

From my dabbling with wildflower seeds is that they will grow, and die come the winter. Then that's it you need more seeds again

RP Sabre 250; anyone have one

Hi I'm wanting to buy a new benchtop bandsaw, I cannot physically go any bigger than a 10" benchtop model due to space constraints. Anyone have the Sabre 250 ? If so how do you rate it; any issues or niggles ? Also was seriously considering the Axminster professional AP1854B but it's way too...

Rhodesian Teak for making box ?

There was a marking on one of the pieces I did not take as it covered in tar. On that piece there was an ink mark or something of that nature; it was a circle with "Rhodesian Teak" written in !!

Rhodesian Teak for making box ?

Thanks for responses, maybe then its probably not a good idea to use this for a box. Just ordered a new veritas dovetail saw for my first attempt at dovetailing so dont want to blunt it to quick. Anyhow no loss as I found them in a local skip; i will add them to the pile and maybe use for...

Rhodesian Teak for making box ?

Hi I have recently found some old rhodesian teak flooring pieces in a skip. I would like to make a dovetail jewelry box from them; is rhodesian teak suitable for this task ? Never worked with this timber before but it does have a nice grain patterns and colour so thought it could look good. Is...

Dewalt cordless combo drill slipping out of hammer action

Had a similar issue with my 796 but instead of it slipping out of torque it got stuck on hammer; got it fixed under warranty and then a year r more later the chuck got stuck and difficult to open& close. So then I bought a newer brushes model and still use that daily. The 796 was a good drill...

Best paint for a galvanised/slightly rusted metal roof?

Brantho Korrux is good paint, however if its too when applying it tends to gum up a bit. Or for a cheaper option maybe try Blackjack.

    Khan's ULEZ scam >road charging

Think of all those Victorian houses; and the pitch & paper cable that feeds that house and all the jointing of such along the way. That's what alot of houses still rely on today. While in most cases where it's still in use theres nothing wrong with it, the issues may start when every house in...

    Khan's ULEZ scam >road charging

My take on it is that LTN's were introduced not to cut pollution (because it does just the opposite), but to p*** drivers off so much that they just get rid of their vehicles altogether. And that is really my thoughts on it. At the end of the day thou the only way this is gonna be sorted out is...

Kity 613 Bandsaw wheels not in line?

It does depend somewhat I think on what way the blades kinked; if you can find a dead flat surface and lay it down on that to see if lays dead flat then you should be okay. Mine was not and had no end of trouble until I realised !

    Khan's ULEZ scam >road charging

Yes it would be better. I will give a good example; I done a job a year or so ago for an old boy living in Crystal Palace. He lives(d) on top of a steep hill and the council in their wisdom decided to put a load of plant pots at the top hes road as part of a "low traffic neighbourhood" (ltn)...
