    Wall Clock With Laser Engraving

I've been making a few different types of wall and mantle clocks of late. Here's one I made for a pressie for one of my mums carers who owns some horses. Made from some 200mm Sapele left over from my workshop door project during the summer. The clock face and horse's head is laser engraved onto...

    Button clock

Very nice, brilliant idea! Can I ask, what size is it roughly? I've been making a few clocks and I laser engrave the clock face onto the wood. I've used both the 38mm hands for a 90mm clockface and 70mm for a 150mm clockface.

Post a photo of the last thing you turned (!)

I'm trying to get a bit of time in the workshop. Its seldom I get to make a piece for our monthly chapter challenge. Got a few hours in over the weekend and got a piece done for this months challenge, a ceiling rose. I'd a bit of a battle with this piece, was pretty out of balance. 12" x 2"...

Its harder and harder to find time to get into the workshop. Here's a Yew pot pourii bowl I finished last week, started it sometime in December I think and left to one side.

    Henry Taylor Hollowing Tool

This was an impulse buy from Axminster, I usually do a bit of research before buying anything new. But for some reason its not very clear (to me anyway) where to get replacement or different shaped cutters for the Henry Taylor "Stott" tool. There seems to be a good selection of cutters for the...

    Henry Taylor Hollowing Tool

I've just got a Henry Taylor Hollowing Tool delivered, but I've yet to get time to try it out. Can anyone tell me, will the Robert Sorby carbide tips fit it? I can't seem to find any replacement or different cutting tips for it.

    lathe choice Charnwood vs Record.

I've only recently bought the 320 as an upgrade to my 30yr old draper. Very very happy with it. Variable speed, reverse and is solidly built. Packs plenty of weight too but my lathe bench is a 10" x 6" block of timber bolted onto 2 electricity poles bedded in concrete. I also got the bed...
