    Painting new made sash windows

That's brilliant advice Olly - many thanks - I'll use the Tikkurilla primer I think. I have a deep aversion to paint and painting but will set about the task in hand knowing I'm approaching it in the right way :-)

    Painting new made sash windows

First of all many thanks for the advice and time given to my question - I think what i'll do is give all the bare timber a brushed coat of timber preservative and then spray coat a couple of aluminum primer (this seems the way forward) and then following advice above a coat of the dulux...

    Painting new made sash windows

Hi, I've just made 4 boxes and 8 sashes in joinery pine for my own house (followed Olly Bradshaws brilliant you tube videos and paid the £60 for his sample drawing). I usually make kitchens in solid timber but have enjoyed making the windows but would like some advice if anybody has any on a...

    Making beaded face frames

Hi, Thanks chaps for the advice and I may well end up using one of a combination of approaches, but proves one thing that there is no easy tried and tested way to get lots of accurate joints. The beading is no problem but the notches are. I think what I'm going to do is build a one off jig for...

    Making beaded face frames

Hi, I've got a commission to make a large ish kitchen with beaded frames. I don't want to do the applied mouldings route and also don't want to end up buying a load of expensive kit for what might be a one off. I've a well equipped workshop - table saws, spindle moulder, pull saws, routers etc...

    Virutex EB25 edgebander

Hi all, Does anyone know of an engineer/someone who could do some repairs/maintainence on a Virutex EB25 edgebander? Its in fair condition but has just developed some faults recently and although I'm pretty good with workshop machinery find this one quite tricky - any help would be much...

Wadkin Spindle moulder can I use it with a dovetail jig?

Hi KT, Many thanks for your thoughts on the spindle moulder dovetail jig. I had a go yesterday evening at taking of the existing spindle and I think you're spot on in that the tool in the photos does just that. So, hopefully it'll all work! I'll post an update when the jig and cutters arrive...

Wadkin Spindle moulder can I use it with a dovetail jig?

Sorry for multiple posts from me on this subject. I think I can remove the spindle itself but I think I need a special tool or is there a way to remove the spindle without one. I've attached photos. Any help with this would really helpful. Thanks, Matthew

Wadkin Spindle moulder can I use it with a dovetail jig?

Hi, Many thanks for your thoughts.....I, perhaps rather hastily, bought a dovetail jig and cutters on ebay with blind faith they would fit, and last night thought maybe not? I'm not sure which spindle moulder model I have - its up at my workshops (the most similar one i can find image wise is...
