    Making beaded face frames

Hi, Thanks chaps for the advice and I may well end up using one of a combination of approaches, but proves one thing that there is no easy tried and tested way to get lots of accurate joints. The beading is no problem but the notches are. I think what I'm going to do is build a one off jig for...

    Making beaded face frames

Hi, I've got a commission to make a large ish kitchen with beaded frames. I don't want to do the applied mouldings route and also don't want to end up buying a load of expensive kit for what might be a one off. I've a well equipped workshop - table saws, spindle moulder, pull saws, routers etc...

    Virutex EB25 edgebander

Hi all, Does anyone know of an engineer/someone who could do some repairs/maintainence on a Virutex EB25 edgebander? Its in fair condition but has just developed some faults recently and although I'm pretty good with workshop machinery find this one quite tricky - any help would be much...

Wadkin Spindle moulder can I use it with a dovetail jig?

Hi KT, Many thanks for your thoughts on the spindle moulder dovetail jig. I had a go yesterday evening at taking of the existing spindle and I think you're spot on in that the tool in the photos does just that. So, hopefully it'll all work! I'll post an update when the jig and cutters arrive...

Wadkin Spindle moulder can I use it with a dovetail jig?

Sorry for multiple posts from me on this subject. I think I can remove the spindle itself but I think I need a special tool or is there a way to remove the spindle without one. I've attached photos. Any help with this would really helpful. Thanks, Matthew

Wadkin Spindle moulder can I use it with a dovetail jig?

Hi, Many thanks for your thoughts.....I, perhaps rather hastily, bought a dovetail jig and cutters on ebay with blind faith they would fit, and last night thought maybe not? I'm not sure which spindle moulder model I have - its up at my workshops (the most similar one i can find image wise is...

Wadkin Spindle moulder can I use it with a dovetail jig?

Hi, I've a small Wadkin Bursgreen spindle moulder with a 1" shaft. Is it possible to fit dovetail cutters and if so how do I do it? Sorry for being dumb, as I've only ever used it as a groover. Can I remove the shaft? I doubt it.....so is it possible to get a collet adaptor for a 1" shaft...

    Startrite tilt Arbor motor

Hi Tom, It's to go in a shared workshop - where 3 of us work together on our own projects. I had thought maybe this was too complex to resolve (for me anyway) but maybe I started to think the wrong way when I thought of taking it back to 240v and the way forward might be to just fit a suitable...

    Startrite tilt Arbor motor

Can I thank everyone for all their invaluable advice. Seems it's a pretty complex issue to unravel. I think with things as they are at the moment I might just let the saw slip back into that 'not sure what do with' corner of the workshop and maybe when I've less work on will try and pick this up...

    Startrite tilt Arbor motor

If possible I'd prefer to return it back to 240v single phase if that's possible? Maybe a new motor? Keep the switch mechanism if possible?
