Hi Peeps,hope everyone is well. Ok so i have a problem,i had a blade come off my band saw (nice fright lol) anyway,i have ordered another blade,the problem is when the blade came off it brought some of the rubber Tyre off the wheel,well i say off,it loosened it, My Band saw is an ole fella,and...

I know little about it,but recently i have been in talks with a chap about what blades to use for what purpose,in his view (in his position i think he should know), it is better to use a narrower blade ie,1/4 carbon with 6 or 10 tpi for curves and bends. Please don't take this as the reason why...

Hi Bod,sorry to jump in mate,im new to the scene and wonder how you get a blade the wrong way round,im asking because i have 2 blades coming soon and it is my first attempt at putting one on the band saw,i don't want to get it wrong,how do you know which is the right way? sorry for the dumb...

Your probably right,but for a first lathe imo,its a very good grounding.i have no experience with other lathes as this is my first one,so tbh i know very little about them.

Crikey Robin those are some saws,the one i got is tiny in comparison,saying that it weighs 120kgs and really hurts when you drop it on your foot getting it into place (hammer) :roll: Yes i think it is Italian.
