    Suckers!

I have the ADE1200 and the suction was poor - kept getting blocked when used with my thicknesser. After Axminster's technical dept told me to cut off the guard at bottom of the impeller housing (also told this would not void the warranty) it was much better. At the moment it is used for my...

    16 amp circuit.

I recently got a 16A circuit installed. It was added as a new circuit from the consumer unit and a 20A type C MCB was used. The reason for the type C was the induction motor in the saw as I believe they create an initial surge in the load and type C can cope with this but a standard type B may...

    Axminster ADE2200 Extractor Blockage!!!

I have the ADE 1200 and found that the flexible pipe was getting blocked as chippings got stuck in a metal grill in front of the impeller and the only way to unblock the pipe was to remove it. A call to Axminster's tech dept resulted in the suggestion of cutting the grill off. Apparently...

How connect Metabo Orbital Sander to dust extraction

I have the previous version of the Metabo and Axminster's stepped hose reducer allowed me to connect it to my dust extractor. http://www.axminster.co.uk/recno/3/product-Axminster-Stepped-Hose-Reducer-208855.htm

    Elm Table

Thanks to all for the kind comments. I didn't notice any problems with stability during the build. It remains to be seen what happens over the next few months. Malcolm

    Elm Table

After lurking here and admiring the work of others I thought it was time to post my latest project – a table. When I started the project I took lots of pictures but forgot in the middle so the build “jumps” somewhat. The wood is elm and the finished table is 750mm square and 450mm...

    SIP tablesaw rip fence query

Sorry, should have made it clearer. The head of the bolt is held in the slot on the auxiliary fence. The bolt then goes through the main fence and the knob is then on the other side of the fence. I photographed it like this to let Bookman see the different parts and how they fit together...

    SIP tablesaw rip fence query

I do use it reasonably often. The main uses are when cross cutting with the mitre gauge or ripping thin strips as the crown guard is fairly wide so this allows me to get the fence closer to the blade and keep the guard on. Looking at your earlier posts, you seem to have the auxiliary fence but...

    SIP tablesaw rip fence query

This is a picture of the auxiliary fence for the saw. I have not fitted it fully so you can see the bolt that holds it to the main fence and the black knob you see goes on the bolt to tighten the whole thing up. Hope this helps.

    SIP tablesaw rip fence query

I am using a CMT Fine Crosscut blade from Axminster (part 300133 - CMT TCT Saw Blade Fine Crosscut - 250mm x 3.2mm x 30mm T60) and have been happy with the results (most of my cutting has been plywood rather than hardwood). One thing to watch is the bore of the blade as this saw has a 1" arbour...

    SIP tablesaw rip fence query

The extra fence is attached to the main fence with two long bolts. They should have rectangular heads that slot into the extension, go through the main fence (from one side to the other) and then there should be two plastic knobs to secure. Position the extra fence on the bade side of the...
