Hi I picked up a Stanley skew 140 but it seems to have a 120 style lever adjuster. I have looked on line and can't find any others. It's stamped 140. Anybody have any knowledge of this type of plane?

I spent 20 years as a site chippie 1st and second fix and the first thing you did was take the driving knife off. They got in the way, saws got thrown about a bit, dropped, kicked and stepped on! The riving knife would suffer and clash with the blade. Never missed it.

I own/run a civil engineering firm so generally buy the heaven duty range, I believe the Superstar, I also buy quite far too many screed type levels they are 3-4 m and have a tendency to get stepped on or driven over by dumpers

Stopped using Stabila levels a long time ago, erratic quality leads to expensive mistakes. I only use BMI levels.

I want to add face frames to existing carcasses.

I want to (actually I dont, wife wants me too) update the kitchen, replace doors with shaker style but how hard is it to add face frames, what is the max width that I can have. I expect to have to make new draw boxes. Has anyone any experience of doing this?
