As I understand it the same protection which is brilliant for small businesses through the use of Ltd company constructs is the same approach that allows these fraudsters to operate with such confidence.
No idea how you counter it other than educating Joe public that they need to research...
Whilst there a few different bits of advice given in this thread which I know contributers will have different opinions on I think you're getting a clear message here - don't mess unless you know what you're doing.
As had been said, if it's lightweight block then you can just scrape the recess...
From what you've described I'd without doubt just make the back box deeper. It's an extremely easy job makes minimal mess an can be completed in 20minutes by a novice.
As always ensure you've killed the breaker for that circuit before messing with it.
I'd vote for DPC if you're contemplating future machines. The 3ph are nearly always cheaper due to the issues with people having supply in the second hand market. VFD you're just making a one-off cost for one machine. To me that's the worst of both worlds - faff of setting it up plus additional...
Intrigued about this one...
I've got a restored Cooksley P/T, absolute lump of heavy old kmachinery and does a fab job of planing that I could only ever improve with a helical which I'm not bothering with. I've also spent a bunch of time and effort setting up the thicknessing aspect, and ended...
Have I done it? No. But from a theory perspective I don't see it working - small vacs work on low volume high pressure approach whereas extractors move high volume at low pressure to shift chips.
So the small vac isn't going to shift the volume of air needed unfortunately.
Personally I think the debate on which aids are more/less safe is of far less importance than just ensuring people have the basic safety principles instilled into them - how they then apply them is personal responsibility if outside of a commercial environment.
E.g. No loose clothing or hair...
Making some heavy duty drawer units at the minute for the back of our pickup and whilst I appreciate the difference between various joints (dovetail, mitre, etc) I can't say I've ever applied any science to how I do rabbet.
I typically do mine as 50/50 cuts, i.e. I set the router depth and...
And yes, I mean electrical ones despite router planes fitting the description :P.
How versatile do you find the 1/4" routers? I have a Hitachi MV12E as my main router and there's no getting around the fact that with a hose and a flex attached it can be a real pain at times when I'm moving...
Be very careful with what you believe the strength to be, fdm prints are far weaker than injection moulding. When you're designing something consider the layer lines in the same way you would grain - put a force perpendicular to the layer lines and it's very strong, drive a force between them...
