    Wood screws?

Reisser seem to be popular! But similar cost to the Turbo II screws I got. I'm only using softwood so guessing in hardwood the screwfix ones are a bit weak? Is that why reisser is preferred? Has nobody tried those cheap turboqwik ones?

    Mini circular saw

Just an update, been using the titan now for a while. Made some garage shelves and was able to cut down some 8x4 sheets into neat 8x22 strips and do the recess for the posts. The laser guide is actually quite handy for short cuts and if you have a straight edge clamped to the board it zips...

    Wood screws?

I've been using screwfix's turbo II screws which are very good I like that you can just fire them in without a pilot hole. They are a bit expensive though. Has anyone tried these ones https://www.screwshop.co.uk/product-cat ... assivated/ They are much cheaper but cant find any reviews of them...

    Mini circular saw

A track system sounds like a good solution. If I get one might try to 3D print an attachment to slide along a rail. EDIT: I got the Titan saw and so far so ood! Its cheaper, 500w and has a laser. So far its worked great my test cut in 12mm MDF using a bit of wood as a guide rail was perfect...

    Mini circular saw

Thats disappointing your task is one of the things I had hoped to use it for too. I was planning to clamp a runner to my wood and slide along it like this With that method I can do an almost straight cut with the jigsaw but the blade wavers a bit on the far side of the piece so its not a...

    Mini circular saw

Saw that one it looks a good bit bigger. Was worried it might kickback more violently if I make a mistake than the smaller one. Have you had any kickback from it? The bevel and deeper cut is a bonus but 120mm blade is not far from a full size circular saw and none of these saws have a riving...

    Mini circular saw

Getting increasingly tempted..The screwfix one is hard to beat on paper the equivalent WORX saw is almost twice the price. There is a different worx one almost the same price...

    Mini circular saw

Is that the 400w or 700w? Does your one do bevel cuts?

    Mini circular saw

I've been looking at mini circular saws for cutting sheet material. I have a jigsaw already but want a cleaner straight cut, and I don't need the power or depth of a big circular saw as my materials are all under 25mm thick. I also like how easy the plunge cuts look in the review videos on...

    Bandsaw advice

So I got the titan saw which so far seems like a decent tool. My only gripes are they have used plastic for the upper blade guide mechanism and the mitre gauge is a bit flimsy and wobbles in the slide slightly. The provided blade works but produces a very rough cut. I bought a 3/8 1575mm 10 TPI...

    Bandsaw advice

I know many people here use these saws every day and are probably very careful with few mistakes. But from what I've read even in skilled and careful hands kickback can happen with smaller bits of wood (and no matter what training I get I will be a beginner for quite a while) You make a good...

    Bandsaw advice

Yes the 45 degree cuts i'm speaking of are in sheet material for the exact purpose of joining. Sadly as much as I want the utility of a table saw I cant have such a dangerous tool in my garage. Is there any other way of getting decent angled cuts in sheet material other than a table saw...

    Bandsaw advice

Wanting to get some advice on buying a bandsaw thats suitable for my needs. I was all set to buy a table saw but after researching it a bit and seeing some of the injures they can cause even to experienced users I wanted a safer option. I do have a jigsaw already so was hopeing the combination...
