    Nearly finishing my first table..

I use my random orbital sander as much as i can (I hate sanding!), attached to the vacuum there's hardly any dust, then reluctantly finish with a bit of hand sanding. Used to use a palm sander quite bit too, but boy was it noisy

    Bandsaw advice for resaw.

I've had the hammer n4400 for several years, has never struggled on hardwoods (apart from when i can't be bothered to change the blade!), sawn 10 inch thick oak for veneers without much problem. Bit pricey maybe, but then they all are these days! I'm sure others of a similar price would do the...

    Applying band sawn veneer

Had the same problem myself (think the veneer came out slightly thicker than yours) once doing some doors about 500mm square, think there was 4 sheets needed to cover a door and couldn't get a good join when doing it in one, ending up cutting the core that i was veneering onto into 4 equal...

    Vacuum bag veneering question

Coincidentally, I'm looking to get rid of an airpress with bags and connectors that i used to use for work. It's pretty heavy duty and can connect 4 bags to it and should run for hours. Drying timber for furniture use

Yep it takes a while, though it's always a bit of a guess without a moisture meter. I've seen someone use a makeshift kiln in a workshop made using foam insulation and a dehumidifier if you want to hurry things along a bit.

DeWalt 625EK - powerful, quite heavy but really solid workhorse DeWalt 615 - great tool, lightweight and perfect for detailed work both a bit of a pain with dust extraction attachments though.

Axminster Ade 1200 - ok for a planer but needs a fine filter for other machines Felder AF22 - really impressive, powerful Record DX4000 - great for power tools and small workshop

DeWalt 733 Really like this machine, gives a nice finish on hardwoods, although you have to be patient with the amount you take off. Pretty loud though!

Hammer n4400 Had it for a few years now, never struggled for power, really accurate with a sharp blade. Easy blade change and set up which stays in the same place all the time, unlike a lot of old bandsaws i've used which need constant attention.
