I bought a sheet of oak veneered board from them last week and they charged £10+ vat to cut it into 7 pieces - that was the only way I could get it into a Smart ForTwo car!
My wife - who is a customs officer - found that statement quite amusing. Shipments are often labelled as "gifts", or have extremely low values listed on the shipping labels and due to the huge number of parcels many get through. But people who broadcast their intention of evading the tax payable...
I agree that most of the Festool range is extremely good. I have several including drills, saws, routers domino etc. which is why I encouraged my brother-in-law to look at the range when he was looking for an M Class vacuum.
I do find it amusing how many people have such deep down brand loyalty...
My local dealer said that he could not offer discounts and would have to refer directly to Festool to see f they would offer some incentive - a free guide rail, systainer or whatever. This was on an order for £6000+ worth of tools.
My brother-in-law just purchased a Festool SRH 45E vacuum cleaner. Cost was £892.00 + VAT.
