    Spray can/ aerosol nozzles

Over many years, I have a number of aerosol cans- either paint, lithium grease etc etc where the nozzles are either clogged/ lost/ damaged. Don't really want to throw them away, so started looking at replacement nozzles on eBay (not prob best place but it was late).... very confusing, there are...

    Internal Insulation Question

Thank you Roy. Yes, have considered Celotex- the current wall is just painted brick with the brickwork not being especially flat. Have you any suggestions to get it to fit tightly without voids? Or would a thin layer of roll type fibreglass insulation behind the Celotex to take out the...

    Internal Insulation Question

I have a large loft room which is used as my office. The one end wall is a party wall and is insulated on the neighbours side, the side walls are internal to roof and are insulated, as is the roof. My question is about the gable end wall, which is just a brick solid wall, no cavity and is...

Why is this dangerous kit being advertised on here?

Given that anyone using a table saw is going to be a woodworker, I am gobsmacked they actually buy push sticks etc rather than making their own as they are so simple!

    Dust masks for women

Yes like SeanF, I'd highly recommend JSP Press To Check filters too- they are sized so there is a Small and there where they meet the face is very flexible rubber to mould to all facial shapes. Good luck

Central Heating Push Fit Fittings - Soldered - Tectite

With soldering comes the risk of fire/ heat damage plus all pipes have to be empty of water. Push fit I know quick and easy but can't bring myself to trust them even now.... So for me, its compression fittings every time- easily changeable and reuseable, if there's a slight weep, just got to...

Brace bit in a regular, electric or pillar drill ?

I have cut the square end off a number of mine with a hacksaw and use them in a cordless drill at the slowest speed as they are not designed for high speed. Still work effectively!

Using a cordless drill in a drill press stand

I tried one of those clamp on drill stands, it was useless, didnt drill straight and to get it to clamp on, you needed to tighten it nearly to point of breakage. Gave up and bought a small purpose made drill press. Tbh it does not take up much more room than that clamp on type, but is infinitely...

    Wilko and out...

Very sad, but where I live there is a Poundland directly opposite- lot of people go there as its cheaper and pretty much stock same stuff, but I often go to Wilko simply because they have a human checkout person!

    Possible drain block issue

A toilet pipe does not normally smell much at all when removed as clean water should swill all waste away, so good chance is partially blocked and backing up. Silicon around the seal stops the smell sure but does not cure the problem. It could be that he has not seated the pan connector...

    Non toxic treatment for birdboxes

Thank you all. This weekend I will burn the outside of one and paint the other with Cuprinol Shades as I have some of that already to see which box lasts the longest.

    Non toxic treatment for birdboxes

The new boxes are ready for next spring as the ones we have currently are showing their age. For roof I either use an old slate or the two I have made this week both use an angled ridge tile cut in half, which looks more attractive. Anyone used this Eco Wood stuff? Its cheap Eco Wood Preserver...
