Good DIY morticer for infrequent use

Well as I am just exploring this I don’t really know, however it is for furniture making with 20mm oak planks primarily, does this help?

Good DIY morticer for infrequent use

Can anyone recommend something that fits this description? It is likely to used a lot for a project then be unused for a couple of months. Budget is not the be all and end all but neither do I want to waste money!

    paraffin Heater

Hi, I saw this in response to a search I was making on dehumidifier/heating my workshop. I totally get what you are saying so how do you heat/keep dry your workshop?

The problem is that the wooden ‘slider’ in the shoulder vice cannot be removed to ‘plane‘ it.

    Sjobergs Bench

Actually the workshop is insulated but is I unheated as it is large (15m x 7m x4m high), heating it would cost a fortune!

I understand this, and yes it is an issue. However if I am making something like you suggest I will make sure the humidity is OK, I just don’t want to have to keep my workshop at 40% to 50% 24/7 all through the winter when most of the time I am doing general stuff not ‘furniture’ quality things.

Do you have a Sjobergs bench?

    Sjobergs Bench

I bought this bench last May and love it to bits however over the winter the shoulder vice has become unusable and the drawers have become really, really stiff and the cupboard doors won’t close by a significant amount. After several back and forward with Sjobergs they tell me that this is...

    Enclosure in Barn materials

I need to make an enclosure in our Barn to house the filtration kit for our borehole. It froze last week! The Barn is mostly rainproof, unheated with soil floor. What would you recommend for the boarding / insulation. The framing is easy with treated timbers but I don't want to have to protect...

    Plunge or cross cutting

I need to cut large holes in sheets of ply (for windows), I have a Mafell KSS40, is there any advantage in using a plunge saw such as the Mafell MT5518MBL?
