    Timber framed building calculations

Hi all, Its been a very long time since I was last around on these forums, but I remember everyone being quite helpful. Today, I'm in need of someone or recommendations for someone that can assist me with timber framed building calculations. I'm after a range of bespoke maximum unsupported...

    Wooden cross

Hi, I made a simple memorial cross a few years ago out of african iroko. I coated the base with bitumen and it seemed to do the job. You can see this on the crafts page of my website if you're interested.

    Couple of xmas gifts

Cheers for the comments guys! SWMBO has now put in an order for a rustic trinket cabinet to sit on top of a set of chest o' drawers. Would love to have my own personal workshop to complete it in (so I could do a full WIP and 'cause its nice to work without time constraints) but will have to work...

    IKEA kitchens service void

Get an IKEA Family card. If you mess up during assembly, fitting or even transporting home.... the family card offers free insurance and you can simply take the whole thing or just a single part back and start again. Not sure if this applies to actually fitting kitchens out, but certainly...

Looking for employment as a cabinet maker?

I always look on the government's Job Centre website first whenever I have been after work. I always tend to avoid the ones where the employer isn't listed though. I like to deal directly with the employers rather than an agency.

Lot's of work to get the house looking nice and STILL I have no workshop on the back garden. Maybe 2016 is the year?! Or...

New Garden Workshop - Finished at last

Congratulations on getting the workshop finished! Looks brilliant, especially the under floor heating. Can't wait to see the photo with the workshop kitted out now though. My own workshop is still long and far away though so I'm very jealous! All I currently have is a plot earmarked for it in...

A recent project for grandmother-in-law RIP

I'm sure she would have been very pleased to know that it had been made by somebody who took great pride in making the very last thing for her. I, myself have made and pyrography marked a few of these for friends. One day unfortunately I will probably have the honour of making one for a close...

    Elm coffee table wip

Hi, Danish Oil is great for sealing and finishing off woodwork, leaving the timber to look natural. Building a coffee table for the first time is an excellent project to do as it covers a lot of different aspects in woodworking. I was in the same position as you in this WIP I documented a few...

    Under stairs cupboards

Plenty of room for adjustment then by the sounds of it! Yes, the angles do look a bit like one of those that would take a couple of attempts to get perfected. Must say, your shop looks really clean and tidy too. My old carpentry teacher used to say, tidy workshop, tidy work. And this certainly...

    Staircase re-model commision

The suspense............. Come on! Show us the lot, I'm very happy with my brand new staircase, but there's always room for improvement and persuasion eventually with SWIMBO!

New Garden Workshop - Finished at last

Glad to see the workshops built, it looks great and thanks for the recommendation for shed supplier. Unfortunately my own workshop plans mentioned earlier in this thread, will be on hold now until 2016- so I'm sitting here feeling quite jealous at the minute! Can I suggest this company for...
