These are also prone to having the yellow guards touch the band wheel - in the case of the top one it can cut into the rubber tyre and wear it away - this is also heard as a ”catch / scrape” on the top wheel.
Original spares for these are still available www.machinespares.net and www.altsawsamdspares.co.uk - they are Re manufacturing almost all Startrite saw parts.
Would be worth trying Charnwood too - I have the Charnwood equivalent of this lathe and they have never let me down on spares yet - just watch that the threads and tapers are the same. Axminster version MT2 and 1 inch x 8tpi - Charnwood MT1 and 3/4 inch x 16tpi !! Don't know what the Draper...
