Hi all, My original planer blades are, 210mm x 16.5mm x 1.5mm Can I use, 210mm x 18mm x 3mm I can't get the original size quickly so wondered if a slightly bigger size will fit.

Hi All I've got some big lumps from this eucalyptus stump. I've not had any before, any advice for turning etc.

Any body have any idea what type of timber this is, it's got a very light tinge of pink to it, it was a window sill taken out of an edwardian house being refurbished, I don't think it's a hardwood. I thought it was Mahogany but I don't think it is, its not heavy enough.

Hi all, I'm trying to tidy up a good quality table that's looking shabby, I've tried sandingvit down with my palm sander but the disc is quickly getting clogged by old wax and muck, any way round this or advise appreciated.

The same applies when you turn on a bench grinder, stand to one side till max revs are reached, the wheel might shatter, I was taught this 52 years ago as an apprentice and still do it as force of habit.

Problem solved, I bit the bullet and bought the upgrade kit from Bedford Saw, £78 delivered. Not expensive considering the amount of machining on the blocks and all the bits and pieces included, you even get a new slidey up and down thingy. Bit fiddley to fit especially with my sausage fingers...

Stigmorgan, As they are 12"dia 15"long I just might make some garden ornament mushrooms out of them, the cracks will be home to a myriad of insects.
