    Newbie. JetSs16

Hi Jetman Most people take off the foot as soon as they get their machine - it just gets in the way and you can't see what you are doing properly. You will get used to the wood jumping a bit. Just make sure the blade is the right way up, as this will will help to hold the work down. You will...

    Anybody made any clocks?

Thanks all for your replies. As HamsterJam and Stevekane said, it is the type where the whole mechanism fits into a hole, probably made with a forstner bit, that I am after. Do you know what these might be called and where I could source them? Jimi

    Anybody made any clocks?

Hi all Anyone made any clocks? I am wondering how the clock faces fit into the holes - I am wanting to make something like the attached photo (if it attaches!). Jimi

It looks so easy on YouTube

UPDATE: Well I managed to drill 45 degree holes with some sort of accuracy, using the Dremel drill press. However, 45 degrees is a lot harder to cut out than the 30 degrees I tried before. It is very hard to follow the line - I haven't made anything this lumpy since my early days of scroll...

It looks so easy on YouTube

I am using a Dremel drill press. There are unmarked notches that allow the drill - rather than the table - to be tilted. I think they must be at 15 degree intervals. I will try again tomorrow to drill at 45 degrees. Another problem is that when I tilt the saw table by 45 degrees, the dust...

It looks so easy on YouTube

UPDATE The holes that I drilled on the dremel drill press turned out to be 30 degrees and not 45, so this must have been error on my part. I set the scroll saw table to match the holes that I had drilled - rather than the other way around - just to see if it would work. Obviously the bowl won't...

It looks so easy on YouTube

Hi All I've been tearing my hair out trying to figure out how to make a bowl on the scroll saw but it is impossible to even set up the table! I understand that I have to tilt the table, but how is it even possible to saw at a 40 degree angle without the wood sliding off? And how the hell do I...

    Scroll work on a bangle

I don't think I really follow the problem, or the explanations, but would it be easier to cut your own bangle? You could cut out whatever designs you want first, then cut the bangle and then sand it to be rounded.

    Painter's Touch paints

Thanks for the video Claymore. The pink paint that I bought is really thick but the blue, red and orange are like ink and are very thin. I can't understand why the consistency is so different between them. I haven't tried Wilkos paint - is it hardwearing? It is for a toddler's toy and she...

    Painter's Touch paints

Hi all I am still on my never-ending quest to find decent paints to paint my scroll saw projects. I have seen loads of people on here and other forums recommend the Rust Oleum Painter's Touch gloss paints but I can't get them to work for me. Do I have a bad batch? The Baby Pink seems to be the...
