Saved from a shed on facebook for £100 back in working order! Still needs a bit of work.

Majors had 2 different spindle threads: 3/4" x 16 & 7/8" x 16. If you are struggling to match the threads then you probably have the latter.

Approx 22mm thread works out at 7/8th mate.

What colour is the lathe? The earlier maroon ones had 7/8 x 16 and I believe the newer blue ones were 3/4 x 16. There are adaptors...
