    New hip anybody?

Comparing like with like? How does our free service compare to other nations' free services for the non payers or non insured.

    Lets talk lawn mowers.

About to say the same! Or other livestock. You get much better meadow and wild flowers if you (or animals) take the cuttings off and let the soil go a bit lean, no fertiliser, no weed killers.

    New hip anybody?

Agree. The theory was that the NHS needed more management and separation to be more efficient. Big mistake. Big step towards privatisation - which is now well under way and not a coincidence

How to use push sticks to cut wood safely on a table saw.

Looks good, but is it as safe as just having a crown guard and two push sticks? Probably not, not to mention expensive and inconvenient.

    New hip anybody?

Hardly "corruption"! The reform it needs is greater expenditure, as is widely known, widely repeated, promised by current government. Not a dinosaur either - recognised worldwide as highly efficient and cost effective, but underfunded. Has been subject to extensive reform in recent years but...

Any thoughts on selling your items via Ebay?

I've been OK with selling on Ebay except for one A-hole who found fault and was belligerent about everything, so in the end we both lost a bit of money. But only one. Basic rule of selling, like advertising, is to try everything. You just don't know how it will turn out. Go for it!

Try-plane with lead in its nose

I agree about the retro planes just being a gimmick, largely copying long abandoned dud ideas like Norris adjusters, thick blades, brass knobs all over. But have to say that fine adjustment of cap iron is effective with difficult grain for the simple reason that the closer the cap iron, the...

:ROFLMAO: Did you mean 1/4 of an inch?

More a function of a culture of not using push sticks - which reduce accident risk close to zero, even with bare blades.

Try-plane with lead in its nose

They all eventually wear more at the nose end and keep having new mouth inserts added - sometimes cut into the previous one. The mouths get battered - a tight mouth wouldn't last long - I doubt it'd ever be a consideration.

I'm expecting triage conversation and it seems pain relief and physio will be first options, which makes sense on the face of it but not if its a delaying tactic. Run the risk then of getting the op later on, in much worse health in terms of recovery. Oh well will wait and see.

Danish oil, should it have a use by date?

Old putty can be revived too - a minute or less in the micro wave.

Yes to grippy gloves, cheap rigger gloves with leather palms. But I also use the sticks over the planer, just habit but does have advantages see earlier post.
