Hi I am in the same position. Which did you get in the end ? The lowest spec wide belt doent have a platen as it is only two rollers (one above the other) and not three as in widebelts with a platen between the two lower ones (as in the other two spec ones they sell - both 3 phase). The wide...

    Dust Extractors

Any ideas on how to combat the static build up on home made cyclones?

    Dust Extractors

I imagine the problem with that is if there is no paddle or shaker the filter clogs very quickly?

    Dust Extractors

It is for the small table. I have a 500m3 vac on it at the moment and its not enough grunt to keep the dust drawn down. It says on the spec for it it needs at least 1000m3 per hour.

    Dust Extractors

Im on an industrial estate, three sides are other units and the open side is mainly shutters and windows and not near the work area. Plus a kids play group in unit opposite (can see a law suit waiting to happen there if I vented MDF dust outside ! :))

    Dust Extractors

its for a down draft table. I have just emailed steve at onia air. Though their cyclone systems seem a similar price to the axminster ones. The axminster ones though seem to have better filter cleaning.

    Dust Extractors

The main problem I am coming up against is most extractors rated level 4 are just the vacuum type and don't shift anywhere near the air I need.

    Dust Extractors

Outside is not really an option as one an industrial estate and would get "disappeared" from travelling friends very quickly

    Dust Extractors

No just for my lungs, using a downdraft table to sand finished mdf, need and extractor that can filter it and not just spread it about.

    Dust Extractors

Thanks Simon I dont want the massive 3 phase shaker types, it has to be a 16 Amp type. I thought a 1 micron would do by seems not. ?

    Dust Extractors

OK Guys I need an extractor that does at least 1000m3 an hour but can cope with sanded MDF. According to Axminster they only have one model that does this and its over 1K. Any other ideas , they only rate the other ones as for chippings or sawdust even with a 1 micron filter. Any Ideas. Ian
