Thank you, What do you think of finishing with Tru Oil? My only concern with varnish is that knife edges will be contacting the surface on a regular basis, and I thought that varnish was brittle.

At the moment, the only tool I have that spews out a lot of wood is the router, but I plan to get a bandsaw and a tablesaw in the next year or two, and a planer/thicknesser after that.
