A good filler for screw holes that doesn't shrink

Hi, i'm building a PA system at the moment and have filled about 100 screw holes with cheap wood filler (lesson learnt!). At first they looked perfect and flush but now they have all sunk and can be seen through the paint. Whats a good filler to use on MDF? ideally in a few colours. They will...

    Inlaying using a router tips?

Hi, I'm trying to create a template for these handles so I can just cut them out with a pattern bit. I have been following this guide, but this calls for a 23mm guide which i don't have. http://www.routerworkshop.com/revinlay.html I bought a kit with these sizes: Bush sizes: 5/16"...

tips for ripping plywood with circular saw

I think you will need more than 30.... My track saw has 48 and the finish is pretty good though it could be better. A sacrificial piece underneath which you cut into by a couple of mm will help. Also, instead of cutting all the way through do a "scoring cut" first where you only go a few mm...

    Software for modelling timber framing

Yes the Jay Bates youtube vidoes on Sketchup are really helpful. I learn something new every time I watch one. The only feature I miss having from the pro trial is the ability to import vectors from Illustrator. It's not worth £450 though!

    Table Saw

On that bosch saw you can drop the height of the riving knife by just pushing it in, so you could make grooves without having to remove the RK. You would need to still take the guard off though... BTW, I went to axminster about a month ago all set to buy their TS200 with all the kit, left with...

    Mft hole jig on YouTube

I was going to do something similar to this but I found a few guys on ebay who do MFT top copies so I just ordered that instead. I got a few sets of bench and rail dogs at the same time too. The whole point of an MFT is that the holes are crazy accurate. I just couldn't see myself being able to...

Best Dust/Chip extractors for small workshop - Advice Please

So would you say a camvac style extractor would be better for a table saw rather than having one of the axminster bag types (with fine filter) if my table saw only has a 63mm inlet on the back and a 30mm one on the hood?

Remedy for vac hose ridges getting snagged? Anyone???

I have had this problem as well, in fact they have caused the board I have been cutting to shoot out from under the rail as the hose got snagged and I put a bit too much forward pressure on the saw. I have mounted a hook on my ceiling where I hang the hose up and over. It works for me as its...

Safest way to cut a trapezoid strip on a table saw?

Yeah you can still remove the low fence. It's just 3 wing nuts. I'll try it without and see how I get on. Thanks all for the help.
