Requested project for the other half. Coat rack with shelf. Made from salvaged oak and up-cycled Victorian cast iron hooks (well thats what is said on Ebay). My first go using my new dowelling jig. Worked a treat.

Made this Stow-and-Go Sharpening Box based on the Bob Van Dyke Fine Woordworking project. Made from some salvaged Poplar book shelves and all done with hand tools, included resawing to made the dividers (I think I need a band saw!). First time with box mitres which fell apart on 3 of the...

The joys of electric car ownership!

My latest project. Small wall cabinet to put the wifi router and a few other bits and bobs on. All made with hand tools from an old oak table and drawers. Just made it up as i went along and quite pleased how it turned out. Hole in the tongue and groove back is for the router cables.

Made this out of a salvaged Elm slab (with a large crack and quite a bit of cupping), with Oak legs made out of an old table top.

    Woodworm tracks

Thanks for your comments. I opted to fill them a mix of sawdust and glue. Turned out quite dark. Hopefully the wood will darken once the finish is applied. I’ll post pickies once finished.

    Woodworm tracks

Afternoon all. Looking for some advice on woodworm tracks in an old elm slab I’m turning into a coffee table. Took me a week to flatten with hand planes and now find lots of tracks on the surface. What’s the best way to hide / fill / turn into a feature?

Thanks. It’s all white oak with osmo finish. Lid is one piece and the bottom is 4 pieces tongue and groove to allow for movement. All done with a plough plane! Took a while 😄

Wow. That is impressive. Is it flat or contoured top. How long did it take you?
