    Mitre Square.

A file, a diamond stone and about 35 to 40 minuets . We have a winner!! I just wanted something repeatable and quick that I could use to set up the saw blade from the left hand side as it's easier to see. I'm really happy with this now. :D

    Mitre Square.

Hi Folks. The finish on the JM is really good. I think I'll sort out the ends myself, it's just really annoying that they're like that. The funny part about this is the Axminster own brand had really accurate 45s on the blades. It's just a shame along with the rest of the finish they hit the...

    Mitre Square.

Hi Custard. Thanks for the reply. I had no idea that the ends weren't cut to 45. The finish quality of the JM is really good. I just wanted to be able to set up a table sawblade from above the blade (it's easier for me to see) then below the blade and a 10" mitre would have been perfect for that...

    Mitre Square.

You learn something new every day. I just emailed Joseph Marples and got this back. ------------------- Guy, The end of the blade you are testing in no way should be used. Can't even begin to think how you would use it. No, the 45 degree angle is between the steel blade, which has ground edges...

    Mitre Square.

Hi Folks. I've been trying to find a half decent 10" Mitre Square, one with a bit of accuracy. I've ordered 2 from Axminster and had to send them back as the finish was quite frankly appalling. download/file.php?mode=view&id=68992 download/file.php?mode=view&id=68993 I've just received a Joseph...

    Stitch to grit.

Hi folks. A really quick question. What would you say was the closest stitch grade on a rasp was to a 100 grit in a sandpaper. Cheers G.

SIP 16" Good Bandsaw Gone Bad.

Oh and just to twist the salad fork. This blade was pulled out of a box today after being resharpened. Bodie and Doyle they're not =D> =D> . G.

SIP 16" Good Bandsaw Gone Bad.

Wow. Thanks folks. I think woodbrains may have it. This was the only area I could see that I could make a difference and would get close to the changes needed. No there's no warranty it's about 3 years old and it has had a hard life re-sawing meters worth of reclaimed boards. The tires seem to...

SIP 16" Good Bandsaw Gone Bad.

Hi Sunny. No I've not touched the bottom wheel. I see what your saying about the blade position before adjusting the guides but none of my guides would touch the blade until work beings being pushed through the saw. The problem is getting that twist out of the blade long before any guides are...

SIP 16" Good Bandsaw Gone Bad.

Hi I have the 16" SIP Bandsaw and I'm stuck trying to get this thing back in alignment. I say back as at one point I was able to cut my own veneers without any problems. I have ongoing orders to re-saw hundreds of meters of reclaimed boards. So the problem is the blades (I've tried 3) all seem...

Finishing of carving and construction of a rocking horse.

Hi Folks. Is there any one out there in or around Bournemouth or Dorset or Hampshire that could finish the carving and construction of a rocking horse. A woman has come to me after her grandfather (I think she said) started this horse. It has original pencil markings on the head for the layout...

    Help with Sketchup

Hi Thank you for the offer that would be really good. I need to get the proportions better as the model at the moment looks hideous.

    Help with Sketchup

Hi. It's close. The legs need to be straight down with out a curve along the length but with a smooth curve around the whole width of the leg. I'm planning on a lamination for the 2 legs using a vacuum press. G.

    Help with Sketchup

Hi Thanks for that. I'm getting there. It's taken all day on and off just to get this far.

    Help with Sketchup

Hi Folks. Can any one help with this drawing. This is a drawing of a coffee table 12" wide 20" long and 19" high. The feet (which is the part I'm having trouble with) wrap around the ends and slope inwards towards the bottom of the piece. I've tried follow me, scaling and have generally play...
