    Has anyone used powertoolmate.co.uk ?

I've bought from them a few times and had no problems. Prices are usually very competitive.

DBT85s Workshop - Moved in and now time to fit it out

Also, make sure the bottom of the windows is high enough for benches, storage cabinets or even sheet material to be placed under. I positioned my windows 1200mm from the floor and currently have a 950mm high bench under one and 1000mm high metal cabinets under the other.

Kitchen sink - ceramic, stainless or ???

Stainless every time for me. Make sure where the tap fits is rigid and won't flex.

    Oak veneered internal doors

I got my internal doors from Deanta (https://deantawood.co.uk) and couldn't be more pleased with the quality. Most builders merchants and places like Doors of Distinction near me seem to be able to get them. The doors themselves are solid core so have a good weight and have 16mm lippings all...

Anyone got an electric paint sprayer?

I'd been getting a terrible finish brushing Dulux water based paint, so decided to give spraying a go and bought a Wagner XVLP 3500 from http://www.sprayman.co.uk. I first tried it with the same Dulux paint and it was a complete disaster. Having done more research and reading the thread below...

Scheppach Spare Motor £374 and two months to deliver!

I had a Scheppach table saw motor re-wound at Carwood (Rewind) in Yeovil. Only took a few days and cost around £200. Saw has been problem free ever since, however it is run off a 16 amp supply.

Fixing a mirror in a frame?

I used two rebates, one for the glass the second the same depth as the mdf, and wide enough to be able to fix it by screwing into the frame. That way the back is flush and will hang close to the wall, with the mdf out of sight if the mirror is able to be viewed from the side, in a hallway for...

    sds drill

I've got a Bosch GBH 2-26 SDS Plus drill which does all I want it to. The ability to use SDS+ chisels in it has been far more useful than I expected it would be.

Carpeting a grotty concrete floor - suggestions?

If the screed is thick enough, could you dig it up and replace with a chipboard floor, fixed to battens with insulation between?

What do you think of this for a marketing idea

As someone who recycles leaflets that come through the letterbox without even looking at them, I think yours is a really good idea. One of the largest groups of people considering having new kitchens fitted must be those who have just moved house. Therefore, is it possible to identify houses...

    David Wilson Homes plumbing

Latest development - DWH have now decided to take the section of ceiling down, remove the 15mm pipework they put in yesterday, and replace with 22mm as it was originally. Without the leaks hopefully. Many thanks for all the replies, it's much appreciated. Graham

    David Wilson Homes plumbing

A friend has recently bought a new David Wilson '5 Star' Homes 3 bed house with ensuite shower room and fitted with a combination boiler. After about 2 weeks the whole ground floor flooded due to a 22mm plastic elbow on the rising main blowing apart in the kitchen ceiling void. They blamed this...
