    Decent UK Plywood Suppliers

Thanks, I've emailed Timbmet to ask about accounts for DIY. I guess as I'm going to be getting smaller quantities it makes economy of scale difficult. I'll keep my fingers crossed the world sorts itself out and the good stuff comes down in price. Thanks, I'll email my local Jewsons and ask...

    Decent UK Plywood Suppliers

I wish I had the budget for birch, but at the moment as it’s just for shop projects I can’t justify the price. I’m a bit of a newbie still. I’m aware I’m after a unicorn supplier, decent price, product and reasonable delivery costs.

Using Sheet material in limited space , knock down trestle and sheet support

I saw this a few weeks ago, it's a great idea, but I think it still requires a lot of space. Working out of a single garage, I find a circular/track saw + sheet of insulation the best combination. I know some people don't want to get down on their knees, but I feel safer knowing the sheet is...

    Decent UK Plywood Suppliers

This seems to be a perennial question, but for general usage (ie workshop cabinets, unexposed faces in other projects), who do you find to supply the more consistent products? I'm not thinking of baltic birch, or marine ply, but what I'd call "good faced hardwood ply". I've chosen a selection of...

External NVR placement on Dewalt 745 after near miss

Haha, definitely not. I'd have been asking for something to fly off like that.. namely the crown guard snapping onto the blade as it's only thin plastic. Annoyingly, Dewalt's naming scheme is terrible, so finding one that had the right buttons was difficult.

External NVR placement on Dewalt 745 after near miss

The saw is on a stand, so I have some options for mounting onto the 2x4s uprights, which is definitely more accessible. Mine has mounting holes in the tubes to secure it down, but there are a lot of varieties of this saw in different markets, so I imagine some don't. I took it as a learning...

External NVR placement on Dewalt 745 after near miss

I think the buttons are too close and flappy for that to work. I'm not a fan of the position of them from where I stand either as the motion I made was awkward while supporting the work and trying to find the button. I'd seen somewhere else someone mentioning the soft start. That might be...

External NVR placement on Dewalt 745 after near miss

That's a good idea. I guess that would be analogous to a wall switch, albeit with a giant button. Thank you for checking and correcting yourself, not many would be so thorough. I thought it would work in series as it's sensing the voltage, not the current.

External NVR placement on Dewalt 745 after near miss

I thought they'd have to be pressed sequentially? My NVR knowledge isn't great though.

External NVR placement on Dewalt 745 after near miss

Hello, So I had a bit of a scare last week, I'm not 100% sure what happened, but I think a small piece got caught in the plate and shot off like a bullet. I was using a blade guard and riving knife, but I think the (awful) wood I was cutting split near a knot. No harm done this time. However, I...

Help me spend some money: £700 on a router and table saw

I’ve actually had a bit of luck, I managed to get the dewalt and makita on eBay for less than £400. Hopefully I’ll be all up and running by the end of the week. Thank you all for your advice and guidance

Help me spend some money: £700 on a router and table saw

I’ve set up a watch list for some things on eBay, I guess it changes frequently so I’ll keep an eye out. Thanks

Help me spend some money: £700 on a router and table saw

I’ll certainly take your advice on that then. At an extra ~£90 I can definitely stretch to that. Did you build your own table or get an after market one?

Help me spend some money: £700 on a router and table saw

Oh, I have seen a couple of people using these in diy tables and getting results from a couple of passes to create dados etc.

Help me spend some money: £700 on a router and table saw

My plan was to make a table for it so I can do rebates and box joints. I’ll definitely look at the katsu. Thank you.
