    Marking Knives

I did school woodwork in the mid 60’s and don’t remember any sharp knives being involved 🤪

    Evolution fury table saw £197

I brought one and am happy with my limited skills and what it does for me only niggle I have is the amount of sawdust that ‘leaks’ out over the floor which I think is a combination of my shop vac and the huge holes in the under blade box to allow the blade to bevel

    Speed Awareness Course

As mentioned 20 mpg here in wales in urban areas ( rubbish report says we are not driving any slower- that may be true in Cardiff at rush hour but not in mid wales ) where we are it is being imposed reasonably sensibly with 30 still where houses only on one side of the road but it does mean you...

    Quiet extractor ? doe's one exist .

Thank you, I will try that- my saw is a 10” so probably asking too much also there are open sections of the under tray to allow for the bevelling of the blade so allowing entrained air into the box

    Quiet extractor ? doe's one exist .

Can I ask if, from your experience, they would have sufficient ‘suck’ to take on a table saw? My Vax 6000 has a fair pull on it but not enough for a table saw but great for all my hand tools and router

A novel idea for dust extraction

I use an old Vax 6000 which is great for my circular saw and sander and floor cleaning and just about handles my table saw I got it when the carpet cleaner part broke and we had to buy a new one - yonks old now and had a new motor but does the job

MFT Bench Dogs - Thoughts and recommendations?

Really silly question about dogs- just making a workbench with a 45 mm top and thought I would drill some dog holes but I am making a retractable planing stop so not worried about that my question is - do you drill all the way through or to a certain depth? I am putting drawers under the top...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

I did that on the sides with 2x2” but I see that your suggestion would have been easier never made steps before so a learning curve working with 8x2” that I had rather than buying 12x2” which may have been better

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Yes - I wondered that but with a 900 span the deck boards would deflect without but now it is in I realise I didn’t need as much structural support as I thought so May cut the triangles away next step is some handrails 🤦‍♂️

    Riving knife with crosscut sled

Watched a utube yesterday where a guy made a simple cross fur sledge with only a mid back fence no front fence and cut a square out of the fence so that the blade guard and the riving knife could pass through I might have a go at that once I get some table saw skills but remind me why I need a...

    Gout 😥

I have been lucky I guess- I used to get it pretty badly but after being prescribed allopurinol I have been pretty much gout free for years but as you say - dehydration is a trigger for a recurrence
