Any experience of wood splinter gone into your finger? - How did you get it out?

My daughter got the vet's syringe needle, came home, and punctured my finger, and took the splinter out with the tweezers. It was a bit scary at first, and sore, but it came out from the skin. Now feel much better. The punctured skin was rubbed with a sterilising wipe and put on a bandage, healing.

Any experience of wood splinter gone into your finger? - How did you get it out?

Will give it a try, or my wife tells me keep wear rubber gloves for a day, and the hand will sweat making the skin soft, and then take it out with needle. It happened a few month ago, and it was impossible to take it out at the time too. But it was splinter from hardwood, not MDF. I left it...

Any experience of wood splinter gone into your finger? - How did you get it out?

What could it be? Something long, thin and sharp has gone into the middle of the middle finger, and part of it came out. The pierced finger was bleeding lightly. The end part about 3-4mm long bit it still in the skin. It looks gone in deeper than last night. It has gone in slant way, and now...

    Which Arc welder?

Some people suggested putting the rods in the oven for a few minutes in low heat setting to dry them out before using with welder. Not sure if it is a good idea.

    Which Arc welder?

One of the American farmer welder in youtube said that 90 amp is enough for most home DIY welding. So I have ordered 100 amp AC welder. It was very cheap price. Also ordered some 6013 rods from Amazon. Glad to hear 6013 is easy to use, because I am a total newbie in welding.

Did you buy any cheap tools that surprised you with being actually good?

Some Amazon reviews say "You get what you pay for." or "Buy cheap and buy twice". I don't believe that is the case or truths. In fact they just sound total fool's cliches. It depends on how wise one shops, not how much one pays for the tools. I have seen tools costing mega money, but just...

Did you buy any cheap tools that surprised you with being actually good?

Bought an old Rapier 500 plane for £12 from eBay. It is same as the standard No 5 plane. It was rusty and the blade was blunt. Cleaned up and sharpened the blade, set it up. Wow, it cuts like butter making thin shavings or flattening large hardwood boards very fast depending on the set up...

    Don't presume ...

Instead of buying from Amazon, I went to local ScrewFix and bought a DeWalt Tape Measure and few hard brush bits for drill on their clearance sales last night. The tape measure was 50% off, and the 3x brush bits were also 15% bulk buying discount. I felt they were great buys. Checked with...
